How can I make a passport for a travel project in school?

NO, I don't mean illegal, but I'm doing this travel project for Spanish class where everyone is making believe that they're traveling to the capital city of a Spanish-speaking country. How do you suggest I go about making one? Or at least finding one in a craft store?

Ooh! Fun project! Here's what I would do. I'd go to a store like Michael's and find paper that looks like leather on one side (the thicker the paper, the better and more sturdy it'll be), also find some neutral-toned paper that has a light print on it that is reminiscent of traveling (suitcases, stamps, etc).

Step 1: Using the leather-like paper, cut it so that it is 6 inches wide and 4 inches tall. Fold it in half so you have a "book" that is 3 inches wide by 4 inches tall.

Step 2: Using a pencil, I'd carefully draw a design of your country of citizenship (the flag or some other national symbol) on the front cover. Then, using a gold or silver paint pen, I'd trace the design.

Step 3: On the inside cover of the "passport," you'll place all your important information. Make sure you turn the passport so that it is going up and down with the crease running sideways. Now, make two columns, one 1.5 inches and the other 2.5 inches. In the smaller column, either paste in or draw your picture. Sign your name underneath. In the larger column, I'd draw or use your computer to print a series of lines detailing your full name, address, birth date, gender, social security number (make up a fake one), country of citizenship, maybe even your driver's license #.

Step 4: Take your "passport" cover down to Office Depot or some other office store and have it laminated (it's really cheap).

Step 5: Cut your other paper (with the light print) the same size as your "passport." Make sure you have enough pages for all the other countries you may want to "travel" to. Place in side your book and staple in the center along the fold. On each page, you can draw a "stamp" of other countries you've "traveled" to and maybe add info like your dates of entry and exit, towns visited, etc.
