I really don't get this joke...?

I was testing th' children in me Dublin Sunday school class to see if they understood the concept of getting to heaven.
I asked them, 'If I sold me house and me big car, had a big jumble sale and gave all me money to th' church, would that get me into heaven?'
'NO!' the children answered.
'If I cleaned th' church every day, mowed th' garden, and kept everything tidy, would that get me into heaven?'
Again, the answer was 'No!'
By now I was starting to smile. ' Well, then, if I was kind to th' animals and gave sweeties to all th' children, and loved me wife, would that get me to heaven?'
Again, they all answered 'No!'.
I was just bursting with pride for them. I continued, 'Then how can I get into heaven?'
A six year-old boy shouted out 'YUV GOTTA BE DEAD!

OMG I AM LAUGHING HILARIOUSLY~!

Cos if you all those good things above, you would get to heaven, but you
ultimately must die before in order to get to heaven get it?
