Do any airlines allow some weight into your overall baggage allowance for the weight of the suitcase?
I'm not sure if they officially do, because sometimes I've weighed my case at home and got to the airport and it's a few kilos lighter on their scales...? Anyone work for an airline with any inside info? Is there any allowance for the weight of a case (like a universal weight, like 2kg say, for everybody's suitcase)?
No, it is probably down to the accuracy of your scales to those of the airline. Mostly they should match, and remember that if you are using Bathroom scales, they are designed to weigh people, and a suitcase is not an even load, and may not give a 100% correct reading. Best solution is to get one of the newer luggage weighing scales on the market, and use this to determine the weight of your baggage.
